Welcome to YOSHE (“Youth of Shaari Emeth"), Temple Shaari Emeth’s innovative, trend setting youth program!

Temple Shaari Emeth offers a wide variety of programming for youth in grades three through twelve. There is sure to be something for everyone! Our youth enjoy fun-filled events that promote socialization among Jewish youngsters and teens. We also go into our community and address social action needs with visits to a local nursing home, serving in a soup kitchen and clothing drives, and our youth enjoy regional and national events as well.

YOSHE has three age-appropriate groups. YOSHE Minis is our group for grades three, four and five. Our sixth, seventh and eighth graders are members of YOSHE Juniors and our High School students in ninth through twelfth grade are YOSHE Seniors. Each group has its own activities led by a professional advisor.

Club YOSHE
Club YOSHE serves 1st and 2nd graders, offering a variety of programs and events designed to engage young members. The club aims to foster a sense of community and belonging among the youth, providing opportunities for social interaction, personal growth, and community service. 

YOSHE Minis
YOSHE Minis is the youth group specifically tailored for children in grades three, four, and five. This group focuses on providing age-appropriate activities that combine fun, learning, and socialization. Events are designed to build friendships, enhance Jewish identity, and introduce the young participants to the importance of community involvement. The Minis engage in various activities, including crafts, games, and introductory social action projects that instill values of empathy and responsibility.

YOSHE Juniors 
Targeting sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, YOSHE Juniors offers a range of activities that cater to pre-teens and early teens. This group emphasizes social interaction, leadership development, and community service. Members of YOSHE Juniors participate in engaging events that include both recreational and educational components, helping them to connect with their Jewish heritage and prepare for the responsibilities of adulthood. The group also participates in regional events, providing broader social and cultural experiences.

YOSHE Seniors
YOSHE Seniors is dedicated to high school students in grades nine through twelve. This group offers more advanced programming that includes leadership training, in-depth social action projects, and opportunities for regional and national involvement through the Union for Reform Judaism and NFTY. YOSHE Seniors participate in activities that help them develop critical thinking skills, foster a strong sense of Jewish identity, and build lasting friendships. They are encouraged to actively contribute to both the local and broader Jewish community.

Temple Shaari Emeth is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and NFTY, the North American Federation of Temple Youth. Through this affiliation, our youth in grades seven through twelve can take advantage of regional, national and international experiences.
