Summer is almost here, and I know we’re all looking forward to some time for rest and relaxation with family and friends! We are excited to launch Religious School Registration for the 2024-25 school year and eager to embark on another year of meaning-making and community-building at Temple Shaari Emeth. We are so grateful for your partnership, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Religious School for this fall.
Safety and security continue to be at the forefront of our minds, so in addition to the many security measures we have in place, the Temple will continue to have full-time armed security whenever the building is in use, which includes all of our Religious School sessions. Our top priority is keeping our congregants, students, and staff safe, and we appreciate your support in this endeavor.
As in previous years, choice of Sunday morning, Tuesday afternoon, or Wednesday afternoon classes applies to students entering 3rd-6th grade. All 7th grade students will attend on Wednesday evenings and also sign up for a one-on-one 15–20-minute Hebrew tutoring session on Zoom on a separate day (more information about the schedule will be sent at the beginning of the school year). Classes for K-2nd grade and Matan students (those with special needs) will be offered on Sunday mornings, and 8th-12th grade students will attend on Tuesday evenings. Please note that if your child will become Bar/Bat Mitzvah in their 8th grade year, they must be registered for 8th grade Religious School.
Registration Information
We need your help and continued partnership as we prepare for the new school year, so please complete your Religious School Registration for the 2024-25 school year by following these steps: 1. Click here to log in to your Temple account. 2. Complete the online School Enrollment Form by clicking here or from the Religious School page. - Once in the School Enrollment Form, choose “Religious School 2024-2025” from the drop-down list under “Which term are you enrolling to?” 3. Completely fill out the Enrollment Form and submit the $150 Registration Fee per student. Please note that the Registration Fee is due at the time you submit the School Enrollment Form.
Please make sure your Temple account is current to guarantee your child's placement, and if you have any financial concerns please reach out to Stuart Brown or me so that we can assist you. Placements are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure you submit your Enrollment Form and Fees as soon as possible to ensure your child's placement on your preferred day. Religious School Registration is due by July 15th to ensure we can make class placements.
We want to support the needs of all our students, so please pay special attention to the sections of the Enrollment Form related to allergies, medical conditions, and learning needs. If your child has a food allergy, we ask that you submit a FARE Form or Food Allergy Action Plan to the Religious School Office. Additionally, if your child has an IEP, 504 Plan, or Behavior Intervention Plan, please submit a copy to the Religious School Office. If you have specific concerns related to your child or other accommodations that might be necessary, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me so that we can discuss a plan for your student to maximize their success.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at mpescatore@shaariemeth.org or call the Religious School Office at 732-462-4245. We are looking forward to continuing to provide togetherness, support, fun, connection, and engaging Jewish learning for your children, and we can’t wait to welcome your family back to Temple Shaari Emeth Religious School in September!
