cantorCantor Wayne S. Siet has been the Cantor at Temple Shaari Emeth since 1974. While serving as Cantor, he has educated more than 2,000 B’nai Mitzvah and is actively involved in the life cycle events of the congregation. Cantor Siet has supported through song and actions numerous Jewish causes in the local geographic area served by his congregation.

Cantor Siet’s contributions to Reform Judaism are not confined to his exemplary service to Shaari Emeth. He has served on the Board of the American Conference of Cantors and has participated on many of its committees.

Cantor Siet has guided young people and adults toward leading a full Jewish life and has set an example of faith for all to follow. He continues to help set the standard for the Jewish community through his teaching and music.

Cantor Siet is very proud of his first CD called "From Now Until Forever". It contains the music most requested and loved by our congregation. Copies of his CD may be purchased in the Temple office.

Temple Shaari Emeth is known as the "singing" congregation. Anyone who attends a Friday night Shabbat service will be uplifted by the beautiful and inspirational music. Members are encouraged to participate and become familiar with the music that is routinely sung during services.

Upon request, Cantor Siet is pleased to offer a CD that contains the music and prayers so members who are unfamiliar with our service can become more comfortable when they attend services.

Shaari Emeth has an outstanding volunteer Adult Choir, Teen Choir and Junior Choir. The Adult Choir sings monthly at Shabbat services while our Junior Choir and Teen Choir sing at Family services and special holiday services and events. One of the highlights of the year for the Junior Choir is our annual Chanukah Mitzvah Tour. The Junior Choir performs Chanukah music at various locations in the community, which include CentraState Hospital and Pine Brook Nursing Home.

Music is an integral part of Temple Shaari Emeth. It is the universal language that speaks to us all.
